The Drummond Arms
About This Spot
Stepping into The Drummond Arms, you immediately sense a quietly spirited local pub where warmth and familiarity intertwine with a welcoming buzz. Nestled in the heart of Southampton, it strikes a gentle balance between lively communal moments and the comfort of a neighborhood retreat. Here, the pace slows just enough to savor conversations over glasses poured with care, yet never feels too quiet to dampen the subtle hum of shared enjoyment.
The atmosphere invites you to settle in—whether to catch up with friends, enjoy a thoughtful pint of Guinness, or simply relax in the pub’s inviting beer garden. It's a place where the evening unfolds naturally, punctuated by the familiar tunes from the jukebox and the friendly clack of pool balls on the table. The presence of a variety of drinks—from crisp lagers to rich ales—ensures there’s something to complement whatever mood you find yourself in.
While the focus here leans toward classic pub fare and freshly prepared meals that feel both comforting and imaginative, the Drummond Arms retains the kind of honest simplicity that encourages diners to linger. The roast lunches and hearty burgers, enjoyed alongside indulgent sides, lend a satisfying groundedness to the experience, elevating the sense of coming home to a favorite spot.
What truly defines The Drummond Arms, though, is its genuine character; the new owners bring a warmth and thoughtful energy that touches everything—from the attentiveness of the staff to the atmosphere that inspires both lively gatherings and quiet chats. It’s a place that doesn’t rush you, where every visit feels like discovering a little more of the stories shared over a good drink and easy company.

The new owners of this pub are so energetic, kind and ambitious. The food is all cooked fresh, with thought and imagination each week. Such a friendly atmosphere we are already planning our next visit, new years eve!

Beautifully creamy pints of Guinness here, lovely staff and quiet place to have a good chat and a pint, would seriously recommend, hope the new owners take as much care of the place as the old one did

I was at The Drummond Arms on Wednesday 8/10/25 at 7.30 pm till 9.30 pm and the pub was lively . My club Solent Socialising loved the atmosphere. We enjoyed a few games of pool and played various tunes on the juke box. There was a wide range of beers, lagers, ciders, wine etc. No food but offer crisps, peanuts etc. The new management have done very well. A fantastic night out at a local boozer ! Thank you. Went to the Drummond last night with friends a group of eleven and we all liked it and will go back. Especially appreciated is the pool table, and juke box. Staff just the right amount of friendly . No review for food as they don’t do any which is fine by me .
